A Bubbly Start

[LUNA TWINKLE]

Luna walked into the lab with her head tilted in curiosity and eyes wide enough to show an feigned innocence. She knew her mother had made the call to let the professor know today was the day she would be starting her journey as a pokemon trainer. It had been 5 years later than most of the trainers, but it finally happened. There was a huge cloud feeling in her chest as she took her first steps towards the professor. She shot the assistant a small glare as she passed by him though. If it weren't for him she would have most likely started her journey when she was suppose to.

"Hey Professor!", she giggled softly. "Luna Twinkle, at your service. ", with that she saluted the professor in a mocking fashion. After a few seconds she stopped goofing around and looked at the shining pokeballs on display.
She had hatched her Vulpix a few weeks ago and trained it to level five before deciding to get her starter pokemon from the professor. She knew from watching other trainers it was smart to have opposite types of pokemon in a team, so she made her decision as soon as her parent's pokemon laid their egg for her. "Do you still have a Squirtle Prof?"

"Well hello there Luna! Nice to see you." Smiling he couldn't help but chuckle at her silly behavior. Nodding to her question he went in the back real fast and returned with a single Pokeball. Tossing it over to her he decided to give her the chance to let it out. "Here's a freshly caught one, I'm sure you'll do just fine with it. I haven't gotten the chance to work with it yet so all I know is its female."

Luna quickly released the Squirtle from the pokeball. Upon seeing the blue turtle she couldn't help but smile. "Hey there Squirtle, my what a beautiful tail you have there. And such a shiny shell!"
Luna couldn't help but do what she usually did when trying to get pokemon to warm up to her. It was a trick she picked up, tried and true, growing up around so many pokemon.
"I hope you don't mind me calling you Kameru", as she said this the new trainer slowly and gently pat her first starter on the head.

With little reaction from the Squirtle, Luna realized that she had a calm nature. Still Luna smiled at the Squirtle, knowing that although calm, she'd still like the attention. Plus now she had a friend who would go into the water with her at the hot springs, instead of just sitting on the bank enjoying the steam.
"Thank you so much for Kameru Professor, I'll take good care of her."
With that Luna turned around and walked out of the lab with her new pokemon. Not without shooting another glare at the professor's poor assistant though.
